Brother HL 1230 Printer Cartridge - Laser Technology For The Home
The Brother HL 1230 Pinter can take care of all of your personal printing needs. It runs on an operating system of Windows 95 or higher but is not compatible with Mac computers. The black and white laser printer produces high quality printouts quickly. It produces up to 12 pages per minute and can print on legal and A4 size paper. The resolution is 600 x 600 dots per inch.
Besides plain paper the HL-1230 can also print on card stock, bond, labels and transparencies. The paper tray can hold 250 sheets of paper. The size of the printer is about 14.5 inches wide and the printer contains 2MB of RAM. This printer prints is monochromatic and will be able to handle all of your personal printing needs.
HL-1230 is easy to install, software is provided that gives step-by-step instructions and other guides on how to use the printer. You can also directly hook up to the Brothers website for additional features and technical help. The printer goes into power save mode after 90 seconds and very quickly recovers when you wish to print. It has a parallel port to hook up to the network, which is not as good as a USB connection.
The Brother HL 1230 Toner can last as long as 10 months depending on your printing frequency. This product is not quite as technology advanced as most of the Brothers products but it performs very well for it function. The model is very affordable and the user manual is very comprehensive as it also includes instructions on how to use the manual feed slot.
The HL 1230 printer can print on photo matte paper, glossy photo paper, and other multipurpose papers. The type of connection cable you use is important as some may not work. The Belkin 10' parallel cable, Belkin 17ft Ethernet patch cable, Belkin serial cable, Belkin 6' IEEE 1284 Bi-directional parallel cable, and Belkin 10' parallel cable can all be used to connect your printer to your computer.
The Brothers website has all the drivers needed to run the HL 1230 printer. You just need to have an operating system of Windows 95 or greater. Customers have also had success hooking up to computers that use a Linux system.
Some common issues that you may have to deal with include having difficulties resetting the printer, not knowing what is wrong when the alarm light is on, needed to upgrade the software, and using up toner before 3,000 pages are printed. These problems can all be easily fixed if you visit the support pages on the Brothers website.
Despite these small problems the Brothers HL 1230 Printer is a great printer for personal use as it provides excellent quality Brother HL 1230 Toner at high speed. Usage and set up are easy and you can print onto many different kinds of media. The HL 1230 Printer Toner Cartridge should last about 3,000 pages and it is recommended to have a spare on hand in case you run out a bit before 3,000.
