Yashica FR ii Camera Advance Film Lever?!?
Recently I stumbled upon a Yashica FR ii old camera but the advance film lever won't click all the way back. Is it because there is no film in it, or because the battery is dead? I would really appreciate any suggestions. I was so excited when I got it and I have high hopes of possibly getting it working condition. Thanks a bunch!!
Not a bad little camera, aperture priority only if I remember rightly and mostly automatic. Did it come with the Yashica f/1.7?
Your camera will need the battery replacing. Without a battery the shutter mechanism will not operate. Therefore you will find the camera will wind on, but you will not be able to press the shutter. The wind lever will likely appear to be stuck. This is not always for case for old SLR's, but this Yashica works that way.
Buy a new battery, install it and it should spring back to life.
